Charter of the it-alt.* Usenet hierarchy [§] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The purpose of it-alt. * is to set-up a local hierarchy with "light" rules in Italian language, on the model of the hierarchy alt.* . * List of the active newsgroups Every news server autonomously decides which newsgroup is to be created or removed and its policy. * Issuing control message Any interested party can is encouraged to issue properly formatted control messages newgroup, rmgroup and checkgroups, that should be PGP/GPG signed. Every site decides whether to honor them according to its own policy. * Crossposting and multiposting Articles cannot be crossposted in more than 10 groups and with followup-to: set towards more than three groups. Articles cannot be multiposting (posted on many newsgroup) with BI2> 15 within 45 days. * Binary articles Articles containing binary attachments are only allowed in the newsgroups it-alt.binari. * or it-alt.binari.multipart.* if multipart. The use of MIME based codings is encouraged. * Cancellation of spam and binaries in non-binaries groups Every site is encouraged to enforce these rules through local filters; articles in violation to this rule can be cancelled with the approved conventions. * Moderated Newsgroup Moderated newsgroups are not supported in it-alt.* .
