Group creation and removal policy for the it-alt.* Usenet hierarchy

This policy has been established by "GNUg it-alt"[1], you can contact us at
it-alt@servidellagleba.it

1) All newgroup, rmgroup and checkgroup [1] control messages
   will be signed with [it-alt@servidellagleba.it] PGP key. Fingerprint is available
   at http://news.linuxfan.it/it-alt/pgp.txt .
   If your server accepts our cmsgs, you are kindly invited to let
   us know, so that we can keep an updated list.

2) A hierarchical structure by topic is suggested [2]. In order to
   comply, the proponent for a new newsgroup should take care of
   the following rules:
   - use a syntactically correct name;
   - avoid any use of rudeness or illicit references
   - draw up the Group Charter [1].
   The Group Charter will'be included in CMSG Newgroup.

3) The creation of groups already existing in it.* and italia.* is highly
   discouraged in order to avoid having doubled groups (unless the group
   is moderate in it.*).
   For exception to what previously stated must, good reasons must be
   provided. In prefixed group it-alt.config, we'll be ready to find
   better solution for users and newsadmins.

4) Newsgroups creation request for which there is a RFD or a CVF
   on it.* won't be considered; also if the group in it.* it'll
   be moderated. That to avoid any influence to vote in it.*
   At end of vote, the request will be estimated as stated at point 3.

5) For newsgroups naming you can refer to the guide on web site
   http://groups.google.it/groups?selm=DqKBL1.E6C%40deshaw.com&output=gplain
   or on http://www.linuxfan.it/it-alt/FAQ
   The taxonomy is inspired to the following state:
   - at second level only thematic macroareas;
   - no ambiguity or superimposition between the second levels;
   The taxonomic model is avaiable at (sorry, not trasleted).

6) If requests at point 2 and point 3 have been fulfilled the group will
   be created as soon as possibile.

7) Those policies are always "work in progress". Please send us any suggestion
   about it-alt.*.

[1] _GNUg it-alt_ is acronym for "Gruppo Non Ufficiale gestione it-alt.
    In english, just Unofficial Steering Group.
